Mozilla launches BrowserID: Easier way to Sign-in

Isn’t it an irritating thing to create separate login accounts for every website we visit? It is also very difficult to remember the login username and passwords for all these websites that we visit. A simple solution to this was proposed by OpenID service that validates the email ID of the user and uses this as the login credentials for all the websites.

There is a similar service launched by Mozilla few days back known as BrowserID. Using this service you can also login to different websites without creating any new account just the thing being, the website should be already using this service.

So no more creating an account, no waiting for email to confirm the email address just BrowserID service that can help us logging in the website with our already verified account at BrowserID. The service will work with all the browsers whether IE, Firefox, Chrome or Opera. You just need to verify your email account once and use that again for every subsequent login.

Download Your Google Information With Google Takeout

Google has been rolling out many changes these days and thus is in news for some or the other reasons. We all use lot many apps of Google like Picasa, Contacts etc but there was no way of backing up the data that we have stored in these accounts.

BatteryInfoView- Provides Detailed Battery Information

One of the things that mobile users constantly need to have an eye on is the battery status of their device. It does not really matter if it is a smartphone, netbook, laptop or tablet PC. All have in common that they run on battery, and will stop working if battery drops below the minimum required level.
BatteryInfoView is a portable Nirsoft application that provides in depth information about a device’s battery. The program displays information like the battery name, manufacturer, manfuacturing date or serial on startup. This, and more than a dozen battery related information, from the battery’s power state over current capacity, full charged capacity, voltage or the number of charge and discharge cycles.
The estimated remaining battery time for the current activity, and the full battery time for the current activity are also displayed directly on screen.

Firefox Gets Memory Improvements

Memory usage has always been the Achilles’ heel of the Firefox browser for part of the user base. Mozilla acknowledges that and is currently working on optimizing the browser’s memory usage significantly.
One would normally assume that opening a tab increases memory usage, and that closing the same tab would drop memory utilization again to levels prior to opening that tab. That assumption up until now has not been true, which can be attributed largely to JavaScript
fragmentation.

Some Common Tech Myths

There are several Computer Techniques which I am hearing from years and I was also believing them but actually they all are Myths..Following are some of them which are very commonly heard and believed

Myth 1:
Switching off power without shutting down damages the PC
The first myth I came across years ago was that if you turn the power off of your computer without shutting it down, it will damage the hardware of the system. However the truth is, it will for sure affect your data that was unsaved but it will never affect your hardware or the software.
Myth 2:
Files deleted from Recycle Bin are deleted permanently
